Entry visa
Posted: BokatS on Sun, Jun 01, 2008

Hi

Going to Sri Lanka on 14th June for 2 week honeymoon. Our travel agent has told us we don't need Visas but having read this site, I understand we need entry visas for a stay of 30 days or less. Can anyone advise on this, how we get them, cost etc??

We went to Turkey last year and got stung on arrival cos we were told we didn't need visas by our tour operator.

We didn't have the required notes and ended up losing a fortune to a "helpful" tourist who changed euros for us and ripped us off.

I don't want any hassle on my honeymoon !!

Replies for Entry visa

Hi Bokat,

It's for 30 days or MORE, so the agent was right. So nothing for you. You get a free (!) 30-day visa on arrival from the Immigration Officer upon filling in a disembarkation card. Hopefully the stewardesses give these cards in the plane, otherwise you'd first have to fill in at the local desks (at the end of the gate bridge) and then queue up for Immigration.

All the best,
