Doha • The Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani received a letter from President of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapakse dealing with bilateral relations and means of boosting them. Minister of State for Foreign Affairs H E Ahmad bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud received the letter during his meeting with Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Qatar S B Atugoda yesterday. They discussed bilateral relations and issues of common interest. The meeting was attended by a number of Foreign Ministry officials.

Vice-President of Sudan invited

Khartoum • Sudanese Vice-President Ali Omar Taha received a letter from Qatar’s Heir Apparent H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani containing an invitation to him to visit Qatar. The letter was delivered by the Qatar’s Ambassador to Sudan Ali bin Hassan Al Hamadi, yesterday.

PM gets call from Meshaal

Doha • The Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani yesterday received a telephone call from Khaled Meshaal, head of the Politburo of the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas. Khaled Al Meshaal briefed the Premier on the latest developments in Gaza strip.
